Hello everyone! I just wanted to take this opportunity to make a post about how things are going and what things look like in the classroom right now.
We are in the process of wrapping up our first inquiry project, and next week we will start our second one, which will tie together many of the concepts we are learning in our core subjects. In Math we have begun learning about numeracy involving fractions, decimals and percentages, while our Science unit is working on plant knowledge. We will be shifting to look at ecosystems next week in Science. Our social project on the Footprints of Exploration has begun, combining our base knowledge of pre-confederation explorers with research from vetted primary sources of information. Finally in Language Arts, we are reading the book "The Skeleton Tree" by Lain Lawrence. Everyone is very engaged with the characters and the plot, and today we are beginning a project that analyzes the characters deeply and asks the students to reflect on what they have learned so far. Thank you for reading, Matthew Barron-MacFadden
